Kaspersky has undergone multiple external and independent audits and certifications. We are the only vendor in the industry whose source code you can review in transparency centres available worldwide.

As a private international cybersecurity company, Kaspersky has been protecting customers all across the globe against cyber threats for 25 years, no matter where they come from. Find out why Kaspersky is your secure, reliable, trustworthy, transparent and expert tech partner when it comes to guaranteeing your cybersecurity.

Certified Security

Kaspersky regularly undergoes comprehensive third-party audits and certifications according to internationally recognized standards. In June 2023, Kaspersky successfully passed the comprehensive SOC 2 Type 2 audit. The audit, conducted in accordance with the standard developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), confirms the effectiveness of controls protecting against unauthorized changes to Kaspersky's development processes and antivirus databases. In 2022 and 2018, Kaspersky software was certified according to Common Criteria in Spain and Italy. In 2021, Kaspersky's information security management system was once again certified according to ISO 27001.

Software Bill of Materials

Kaspersky provides customers, partners and regulators with a Software Bill of Materials (SBOM). This document contains a list of all software components. It consists of descriptions of the parts which make up a piece of software. SBOM is standard industry practice. It increases the transparency of software and improves the visibility of the software's composition and architecture, which promotes the establishment of a reliable and trustworthy digital infrastructure.

Analyzing Source Code in Realtime

If you're looking for even more security and transparency, you can analyze and review our source code in one of our transparency centers, such as the one in Zurich, or via secured remote environments. Something countless public authorities, scientific institutions, customers and partners across Europe have already benefited from. These reviews are demanding and require expert knowledge. All legacy versions are reviewed and compared against the version that was actually delivered. This is a unique service within the cybersecurity industry.

BSI Warning a Unique Case in Europe

Of the 27 cybersecurity agencies in EU member states, only 9 agencies have released information on the use of Russian software (as of August 2023), to our knowledge. There is not a single geopolitical warning comparable to the BSI's in any other state in Europe.

Prof. Dr. Dennis-Kenji Kipker, professor of IT security law at the University of Bremen, has written a legal analysis on the question of why the BSI warning against Kaspersky is not a permissible product warning, but an impermissible manufacturer warning. A first summary can be found in Tagesspiegel Background. The scientific evaluation will be published in February 2023 in the legal journal MMR – Zeitschrift für IT-Recht und Recht der Digitalisierung by the publisher C.H.BECK.

Highly Secure Business Processes

Kaspersky's cloud servers are spread across the globe, including in Switzerland, Germany, China and Canada. The data which Kaspersky users in Europe voluntarily transmit to the Kaspersky Security Network (KSN) for automatic malware analysis is sent only to European servers.

All previous tests and investigations have shown that the global server infrastructure is what allows the Kaspersky portfolio to run without interruption, and that the KSN for processing cybersecurity data is not compromised.

What Partners and Experts Say

bitbone, Germany

"Staying loyal 'in sickness and in health'" is what couples promise each other when getting married. We keep it similar with our (dear) partners; in this case Kaspersky. We have put our faith in the effectiveness of Kaspersky's cybersecurity solutions for more than 20 years and will continue to do so. We would urge you to do the same."

iT TOTAL, Germany

"At iT TOTAL AG, we are in close contact with the manufacturer. Of course we are also happy to be at our customers' disposal for further discussions! As cybersecurity consultants, we have done our due diligence on all the facts and believe that Kaspersky is and will continue to be a reliable, trustworthy partner."

save IT first GmbH, Germany

"Our partnership has lived and thrived for years on a very trusting and transparent collaboration that was previously not possible with ANY other security provider in this intensity."

Prof. Dennis-Kenji Kipker

"An initial response to Kaspersky II: Actually a catastrophic decision by the Higher Administrative Court for North Rhine-Westphalia and inconsistent in that Kaspersky is picked out as a single manufacturer – if we were to take this seriously, the BSI would be on constant alert."

Sven Herpig, Stiftung Neue Verantwortung / Manuel Atug, AG Kritis

"Under the current circumstances, the BSI's product warning comes across as quite arbitrary and reactionary – as if they wanted to show something without properly considering the consequences or having any coherent strategy. This causes more harm than good to IT security, and thus to national security, too."

Nerosoft IT-Security GmbH, Germany

"As a Kaspersky partner of many years, they still have our fullest trust. The global transparency initiative, combined with one of the most innovative solution portfolios in the IT security sector, is unrivalled on the market."

What Other European Cybersecurity Authorities Say

France – National Cybersecurity Agency of France (ANSSI)

"In the current context, it may be necessary to reconsider the use of certain digital tools, especially those from Kaspersky due to their connection to Russia. There are no objective reasons at the present time to amend the assessment of the quality of the products and services offered."

Switzerland – National Cybersecurity Centre (NCSC)

"Upon request, the NCSC declares that it has no knowledge of any misuse on the part of Kaspersky. 'If the NCSC had any evidence of this, it would alert and inform the public accordingly,' writes Pascal Lamia, Head of Operations for the Centre."

Belgium – Centre for Cyber Security Belgium (CCB)

"The Centre for Cyber Security Belgium (CCB) does not see any threat at the present time either."

Austria – Austrian CERT (cert.at)

"CERT.at currently has no information that Kaspersky products contain malicious features."

A Secure Future

As an international organization, we are convinced that a secure digital world is only possible if we work together, based on dialog, expertise and transparency. With this in mind, at Kaspersky we will always do what we do best: ensure everyone's cybersecurity – with transparency, professionalism, and the best solutions and services.
