Following the great feedback from previous sessions in London, there was a consensus that this was an informative and worthwhile exercise, providing on a quarterly basis, the latest and most up-to-date findings and developments from our threat intelligence.

This will take place from 10am - 2pm on Tuesday 25th July 2023, Kaspersky Office in London, Paddington, followed by lunch at a local restaurant.

Our global researchers and experts will share some insightful and concerning developments of the main financial services threats lurking on the dark web plus discuss some other hot topics.

Meet the Experts

Sergey Lozhkin

Kaspersky GReAT Team

Sergey is the Lead Security Researcher at Kaspersky's Global Research and Analysis Team (GReAT), based in Dubai. In his current role, Sergey conducts malware reverse engineering and threat research in the areas of cyber espionage, targeted attacks (APT's), financial threats, darknet, vulnerabilities analysis and cybercrime in general.

More notably, he played an instrumental role in the discovery of the Carbanak APT that infiltrated more than 100 financial institutions in 40 countries. Sergey was one of the private security researchers who participated in the takedown, led by the Spanish National Police with the support of Europol, the US FBI, and the Romanian, Moldovan, Belarussian and Taiwanese authorities.

Sergey joined Kaspersky in 2012 as a Senior Security Researcher, after gaining experience at Disney, Gemalto. He then joined JPMorgan Chase in 2019 as the VP of Cybersecurity operations, before returning to Kaspersky in 2021.

David Emm

Kaspersky GReAT Team

David is Principal Security Researcher at Kaspersky, a provider of security and threat management solutions. He joined Kaspersky in 2004. He is a member of the company's Global Research and Analysis Team and has worked in the anti-malware industry since 1990 in a variety of roles, including that of Senior Technology Consultant at Dr Solomon's Software, and Systems Engineer and Product Manager at McAfee.

In his current role, David regularly delivers presentations on malware and other IT security threats at exhibitions and events, highlighting what organisations and consumers can do to stay safe online. He also provides comment to broadcast and print media on the ever-changing cyber-security and threat landscape. David has a strong interest in malware, ID theft and the human aspects of security, and is a knowledgeable advisor on all aspects of online security.

David is regularly mentioned in national print press as a cyber-security expert and has a wealth of experience in being filmed for such programmes as Good Morning Britain and BBC News.

Yuliya Novikova

Kaspersky Head of Security Services Analysis

Yuliya Novikova is the Digital Footprint Intelligence at Kaspersky. She is responsible for strategic Threat Intelligence projects for enterprises, government bodies, and law enforcement agencies around the world. Thanks to her solid background in practical cybersecurity and her experience in security assessment projects, Yuliya has honed her skills to effectively combine strategic vision with a deep understanding of hidden threats.

After joining Kaspersky in 2016, Yuliya played an active role as a Security Services Analyst. In 2017, she was promoted to Security Services Analysis Team Lead and participated in a large variety of security services, including Threat Intelligence Reporting, Penetration Testing, IoT Security Assessment, ICS Security Applications, and more. Currently Yuliya holds the Head of Digital Footprint Intelligence position as a manager of analysts, experts and developers teams working on this service.

Yuliya holds an Engineering Degree in Computer and Information Systems Security from Volgograd State University

Vladislav Tushkanov

Lead Data Scientist

Vladislav Tushkanov has been with Kaspersky since 2015. He started as a Content Analyst for Kaspersky Safe Kids and is now a Lead Data Scientist at Expert System Development and Technology Research department. He and his team work at applying data science and machine learning techniques to detect threats, such as phishing and malware, faster and better, as well as researching cutting-edge AI technologies to predict threats that are yet to come.

Vladislav holds a Master of Arts in Computational Linguistics degree from National Research University Higher School of Economics.

Today his research focuses on practical applications of various AI technologies, such as language models, to threat detection, as well as adversarial machine learning—finding vulnerabilities in AI-enabled applications. Vladislav has also been working on various topics connected to consumer privacy protection.

Kai Schuricht

Senior Incident Response Specialist Global Emergency Response Team

Kai started his career in the information security domain in 2010 as a security consultant and joined GERT in 2016 as an incident response specialist. Throughout his career, he has been involved in building digital forensic labs and providing responses to different variants of cyber incidents around the world. Beside the development and delivering of DFIR training globally, he also designs, conducts and evaluates tabletop exercises.

Kai holds several international certifications like GCFA, GCFE, ECIR, ECTHP, CCSK, CISM and ISO/IEC 27035) and also a Diploma in Business Informatics (FH) and a M.Sc. in Digital Forensics.
